The Question is Whether to Repair or Replace - What is the Answer?

We like to say that a repair is always the right option as this can save you a lot of money when compared to replacing your windows and doors. In fact, the replacement of windows on a three-bed semi property, according to the Federation of Master Builders can set you back £4,500. So, if your windows are in good condition structurally, then a repair is always the better choice. If you have faulty locks or failed handles, then you will find that the work won’t set you back thousands but will cost very little instead.

Double Glazed Glass Windows Misting Up? Why is This Happening?

Seals are an integral part of Double Glazed windows as they prevent moisture from passing through the unit. However, they can suffer from wear and tear, causing them to fail and allow water to enter the space between the two panes. When this occurs, condensation becomes an issue, a problem that is also exacerbated in those windows that are south-facing. If you are experiencing misting in some windows and not others, then it makes perfect sense to consider having them replaced.

Recognising the Right Time for Double Glazed Unit Replacement

Determining when it's necessary to replace your double glazed unit can be crucial. Modern double glazed windows are equipped with seals designed to prevent moisture from infiltrating the unit. However, these seals are not invincible and may gradually deteriorate over time. As a telltale sign, you'll notice a buildup of condensation forming between the two glass panes within your double glazed unit. This occurrence signifies that the time has come to consider investing in a replacement unit.
